Le groupe Schuler, en collaboration avec le réseau Luxembourgeois de la Transition et l’Impactory, a le plaisir de vous inviter le 4 novembre à une conférence de Jay Tompt, économiste et membre de Transition Town Totnes UK : « Real World Economics:kick starting the new economy on your doorstep ». Le très inspirant espace de co-working Impactory est le cadre idéal pour le thème de cette soirée : l’économie locale et les circuits courts centrés sur l’être humain. Après la conférence, l’échange se poursuivra autour d'un repas buffet auberge espagnole (vous pouvez amener un plat).

A system fit for the real world. Based on the Human Scale Development framework of the economist Manfred Max‐Neef, one of the forefathers of the current wave of new economic thinking, this conference gives some insights about models that integrate economics, ecology, and wellbeing: How do concepts like ‘reciprocity’ and ‘relocalisation’ fit into a new economic paradigm? How to incorporate the concept of ‘Fundamental Human Needs’ into project design?”

Jay Tompt, sustainable business leader, writer, and activist.

Jay Tompt’s current work focuses on linking new theoretical approaches to enterprise and community led economics with practical action. He is also involved in a range of local business and economic development initiatives including the REconomy Project, Transition Town Totnes, the Transition Free Press, Big Green Canoe, and consultancy William Verde Associates. Jay was co-founder and vice president of PlanBIt Hardware™, the first independent comprehensive ethical products distributor in the US home improvement industry. He also has an MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a BA in Philosophy from San Jose State University.
